Logitech MX Master Mouse

M705 (left) MX Master (right) Want/Need So this was a 100% want for me. I didn’t need this mouse. My old one was a M705 which I’ve had for years. It was a great mouse I’ve never had any problems with it and it’s still going strong. My main reason at the moment for wanting the MX Master is because while at work I switch fairly constantly between a MacBook Pro and a Lenovo W541. I was using 2 different mice but I figured if I could consolidate that into 1 mouse that would be awesome. So here is what I think about the infamous Logitech MX Master mouse. Look/Feel I was gonna put the unboxing experience here but to be honest there was nothing to it. Mouse, USB dongle ( dongle LOL), and micro USB cable. That’s it, very minimal, very nice. Ok, if you haven’t been close up to this mouse, this thing is a beast! I thought the M705 had a good size to it but this thing makes it look fairly small. In all honesty I have small hands, especially for a dude. In order for me to hold this

Legion of Collectors July 2016

Image
This is my first box for the Legion of Collectors. I meant to get the Batman v Superman box but I spaced it. Next best bet for me was the Suicide Squad box. Deadshot, Diablo, Harley Quinn, Joker? This box had win all over it. Now the biggest question, did it deliver? Well that is what I’m here to find out so let’s do it! So after I cut the tape to open the box I’m greeted with this dope ass Deadshot pin and pretty sweet Katana patch. If the rest of the box is gonna be anything like this, it’s gonna be friggin epic. Next. The next thing I pull outta the box is this Suicide Squad #1 comic. It looks like a Legion of Collectors exclusive type of thing. According to the info card in the box it has a Funko variant cover. I’m honestly not sure if I will ever read this, mostly just because I don’t want to take it out of the plastic. We’ll see how I feel about that next week. Rather unfortunately the next thing I see is this Harley Quinn action figure. It’s not unfo

Logitech K750

I’ve been using this keyboard for about 3 months now. I use it at work and I spend my entire day staring at computer screens so I’ve had quite a few hours behind this keyboard. This is a wireless keyboard, the big selling point for this one would be the fact that you won’t have to ever buy batteries for it because it is solar. If you work in a bright office space this could be a nice feature, but did Logitech make a good product? Or should you stay away? Let’s find out… First Impression/Build Quality I probably should have put this in the little intro thing up there but when I got this keyboard it had previously been used and I got the complaint that keys worked when they wanted to (I’m IT HelpDesk). The first thing I notice when I get the keyboard is how much smaller it is than the MK710, if that thing is a Cadillac this is a Mini Cooper. It is a very thin and fairly compact keyboard. I did notice some lint/dust on the bottom side of the plastic that is covering the right solar

This is a bit odd for me because it’s not a review, more of an unboxing. As usual I didn’t absolutely like everything that was in this box, but in all honesty how hard would it be to make every single person that subscribes happy with the entire contents of the box? In any case let’s get started. Fallout 4 Dorbz This is my first Dorbz figure, I actually thought they were kinda dumb. I do like the Funko Pop figures though. After getting this bad boy outta the box, it’s pretty freakin sweet. He’s found a nice home between my Back to the Future Doc Brown and Batman v Superman Soldier Pop’s. Here's a pic out of the box (told ya it was between Doc and the Soldier) Matrix Puzzle I’ll be 100% honest, this could have been a naked lady and I probably would have been a bit bummed out (ok that’s a lie). Seriously I just don’t like puzzles, never have. That being said my son absolutely loves puzzles, he’s 5 (5 ½ if you ask him) so it will be nice to spend some time wit

Dell Inspiron11 3000 Series

Intro So I’ve had this computer for a few years now. I found it at a pawn shop for an amazing price so I couldn’t pass it up. The official model number is 3147, this particular one has a Quad Core processor and 4GB RAM. This particular processor is before the Core M series of processors came out. I had a copy of Linux on this computer for about a year, but switched to Windows 10 since that is what the majority of people will be running on this guy. Linux ran buttery smooth on it though. This is one of the more inexpensive 2-in-1’s on the market, they can be had for under $300. Is it worth it even at that price? That’s what I’m hoping to help you with. Screen/Touch This is a very just ok screen, exact resolution is 1366x768. Watching HD videos on Youtube is definitely ok but nothing to write home about. I will say the touch screen is very responsive though and using this as a larger tablet is decent. It doesn’t get overly bright though so I would say using it outside on a nice

HP Spectre 13-4002dx

Intro First of all I want everyone to know I didn’t buy this laptop. I got it from work and decided, well since I have access to it I may as well review it. I’m really enjoying using this laptop for just about everything and am finding myself looking for a reason to use it, even if I just pull it out and don’t do anything with it. So let’s get into it. First Impressions So I’ll get into the technical stuff in a minute. I have a Yoga 12 that I reviewed before and you can check out that review here , if you would like. If you would like to see me put these 2 ultrabooks head to head let me know. ANYWAY there’s 2 things that jump out to me when I first used this thing, 1. Damn this thing is slippery. I love the build, and it’s insanely sleek, but being made out of aluminum it is also very slick. Everytime I pull it outta my backpack I’m seriously afraid I’m gonna drop it. 2. This keyboard is nice! I know the Lenovo’s have won real awards for their keyboards and this one can easi

Phillips HUE Lux Starter Kit

I got this on sale through Amazon for $40 basically (39.99), unfortunately now it is $80. I’ve been wanting to try these for a while but couldn’t bring myself to spend the normal 75 or some odd dollars for it. When I saw it on sale it was a no brainer. Here is the nitty gritty. In the box The box was very simple. There was 2 bulbs, power cord, Cat 5e Ethernet cord (about 3-4 feet), and what they call the bridge. Like I said very simple Hooking it up This was so easy a caveman could….well you know the rest. The one I have is the first gen Hue so I don’t know if the newer version has WiFi but this one you have to plug in to your network via the included Ethernet cable. First you put the lights where you want them and turn their switch on. Then plug your bridge into the wall and your network. Then you need to download the Hue app to your phone or tablet, the app will see there is a bridge close and ask you to press the button on it, which will pair it with the app. Then you will be

Lenovo Yoga 12

Image
What’s in the box The packaging is fairly simple, but very protective. In box was the laptop, power adapter, and a small little warranty info paper. You know, I miss the days when recovery discs were included when you got a new computer. How many of you would pay an extra $5-$10 for some recovery media to be included with a new computer? Build This little guy is sleek. Very thin and solid, with some caveats I suppose. While it does feel very solidly built, it also feels pretty heavy for a 2-in-1, this isn’t something I would want to use 1 handed for an extended period of time. In the same breath I don’t suspect this will get broken to easily. This particular Yoga I’m using was made for business applications so on one side you will find the charge port, which has a rubber cover on the port attached to it that is for the docking station. There is also a headset jack and USB 3 port on the same side. On the other side you will find a Mini HDMI, USB 3, SD Card port, a button to loc

Slickwraps vinyl 'skin'

Image
What’s in the box These guys obviously know how to package their skin so it doesn’t get damaged on its way to you. Inside the box was the Slickwraps branded box that had the skin in it. Mine was for the Note 5 and it came with; a full size back piece, a smaller piece for the camera, an even smaller piece for the flash/heart sensor, a piece for each side, top and bottom, a little guy for the tip of the S-pen, and a piece for the home button. There was also what looked to be a sticker to take the lint off your screen and a small microfiber cloth. First thoughts I’ll be honest when I first purchased the skin I was a bit worried because it was described as being glossy, and I was afraid it would be a fingerprint magnet and I would end up either taking it off or covering it up with a case. I am happy to say I’ve had the skin on all day and not one fingerprint, even better it does provide a better grip on the slippery ass Note 5 than just the naked phone. Anyone that has a newer Gal

Update 05/26/16

Just a quick update for everyone. I'm honestly not working on a whole lot right now. I will be doing a review of a Lenovo Yoga 12 soon. That is actually the computer I'm using at the moment to write this on. Outside of that I don't have a lot going on unfortunately. I probably won't be buying a lot of stuff for the time being so if I go too long between reviews I might just do a few random ones. Like my PS4 and Xbox One, Dish Network, the SportClips experience, things like that. If there's any of those you would like to see please let me know. I will be working on the Lenovo review tonight and tomorrow. Depending how far I get on it hopefully I can get it posted by tomorrow sometime. A huge thank you to everyone that does read these, you have no idea how much I appreciate it. Just so you know I don't get paid to do these reviews and I haven't received any of the products I've reviewed for free. I have actually bought everything that I have reviewed, I

EA Access

Image
Introduction For those that don’t know EA Access is a subscription service from EA available only on the Xbox One console. It’s 4.99/mo. or 29.99/year and gives you ‘access’ (haha….I’m stupid) to a handful of EA games. There’s the ‘Play First’ games which give you the ability to play select new EA games before they are actually released. Honest to God complete games, not some 1 hour or first level play crap, you actually get to play the whole game. Once your time is up you can actually decide to pay for the game, and you get to keep all your saves and in game items you have acquired. Then there is the ‘Vault’ which lets you download a specific collection of games to your console and play them to your hearts content. For the price they are charging, EA would really have to screw this up to make it not worth it, but that’s what I’m here for. Should you spend the 5 or 30 bucks? Or should you just save your money and pick up a game or two at your local pawn shop? Let’s find out Pl

JBL Clip+ (LA Lakers)

Image
Everyone needs a Bluetooth speaker…right? I didn’t want to spend a whole lot of money on a Bluetooth speaker, but I wanted something that would at the very least, sound decent. Another thing that I absolutely needed was portability. Now technically I suppose almost all Bluetooth speakers are portable to a point, but I needed something that I could fit in my backpack and take with me when I travel. My first choice was the JAM Rewind Speaker. The main reason? It looks like a cassette tape, how awesome is that? The problem was I didn’t want to spend $40 on such a small speaker. The Clip had the same problem, it was just a bit more than I wanted to pay, that is until it went on sale for $30….done. Unboxing and first thoughts The box was fairly simple. In the box were the speaker, manual/warranty info, and a short micro USB cable. Like I said fairly simple. I got the LA Lakers version of this guy so it is purple and yellow with a Lakers logo on the front. If you’re looking at the s

Creative SoundBlaster E5 Headphone Amp

Image
I’m honestly not too sure how I could break this up into sections. This is the first time I’ve even used a headphone amp. Hell up until about a year ago I didn’t even know such a thing existed, at least not a portable option. I love music plain and simple. When people ask me what kind of music I like I answer ‘I like just about everything’. And for the most part that is true. I enjoy Blues (just about all varieties, Delta is my favorite though), Classical, R&B, Rap (old school, not this crap now days), Some Country (mostly the ‘rock’ country, can’t hang with Bluegrass though), Metal (not death), Alternative, Rock, Rock n’ Roll (yes it’s different than rock), and creative DubStep. I say creative Dubstep because most of that shit sounds the same Black Hole by Skism is good. Anyway I like what I like and it’s a very eclectic mix. I have different headphones that work well with different kinds of music. My M6 Pro’s are great for Classical and Blues, not so great for Rap and

Anker SoundBuds vs. Jaybird BlueBuds X

Image
Fair Fight? First off this probably isn’t gonna be a fair fight. I’m taking a pair of $20 bluetooth earbuds and putting them against a $100 pair. There’s no way the cheaper pair can keep up, right? Yes I am putting these up against each other. No it’s not a fair fight, but that’s what makes it fun right? David vs. Goliath. Rocky vs. Apollo. Soy burger vs. Elk burger (have you tried an Elk burger? Oh my God…) Battery Life Each claims 8 hours battery life. While I don’t actually time how long I have sound going through these, I just do a ‘real world’ type test. I do most of my listening at work and I rarely turn them off when I am not listening. If I had to take a guess I would say yes both probably get right around 8 hours, they are both fairly consistent with each other. One thing I did notice after a handful of minutes of not being used the Anker’s actually turn themselves off to save power. That is both a good thing and a bad thing, when I go to listen to music again the

Update

So just a quick update for anyone that reads this. I'll be pretty busy the next couple days. I just subscribed to EA Access for the Xbox One, once I get to play with that for a little bit I'll do a little review/overview so be on the lookout for that. I also ordered a pair of Anker Bluetooth earbuds which I will be comparing to my Jaybird's. I didn't do a review on the Jaybird's mainly because there are so many out there but if you would like to see it please let me know. I also ordered the Creative Soundblaster E5 DAC/Amp, once I get some time in with that I'll get a review up. Thank you everyone for reading, and please send me suggestions or anything you think might make my site even a little bit better.

Incase EO Hardshell Roller

Image
Decisions, decisions This is gonna be more of a first impression than an actual review. I just got the thing and haven’t been able to actually use it yet. I had been using a roller that my Mom picked up at a garage sale some time ago. It was functional but very cheap and small. After my last trip (that lasted a week) I knew I needed a bigger suitcase, but it still needed to be small enough to carry on a plane. I looked at I don’t know how many rollers, the Incase caught my eye because it was able to carry my laptop and lay flat so I didn’t need to take my laptop out when I went through security. I figured if nothing else that was the one feature I wanted, really just to make going through security that much easier (and faster). I had to have looked at dozens of carry on rollers, even made a trip to a Samsonite outlet store and some fancy luggage store in an even fancier mall that I had absolutely no business in. We had to get outta there. That’s a different story for a different

OGIO Renegade RSS Backpack

Image
Overview This is a big backpack. That is the first thing I mention because it is big so if you’re looking for something a little smaller or streamlined this is definitely not the backpack for you. But if you’re looking for something that can carry pretty much anything then you’ve come to the right place. I got this backpack for 1 main reason, travel. I had a really nice Swiss Gear backpack that got the job done but there were a few things that I wanted it to have that it didn’t. No bag is perfect and of course OGIO made some compromises which I will get into in better detail. This thing holds a lot I know I said I got this bag for travel but I carry it everyday to and from work. Right now this is what I have in it…HP Elitebook 820 (I compare that laptop to a Lenovo x250 here ), Mophie juice pack, 256GB SSD, cleaning cloths, Bose earbuds, WD 1TB external HDD, Dramamine, micro USB and lightening cables, small stone paper notebook (it’s ok not my favorite paper though), Red Te

Lenovo x250 vs. HP 820

Reason for comparison So the reason I’m even able to compare these two ‘Business Class’ ultrabooks is because we have a couple extras at work and I will use one of them until they want it back. I won’t be able to use both of them so I do have to give one up eventually. In this comparison I’ll be going over some of the hardware basics (they’re pretty much the same), and looking at sort of a ‘pros & cons’ list to help me pick. Hopefully if you are looking for a Business Class ultrabook this might help make your decision a little easier. Quick Specs For the most part they are both very similar. I’m not gonna get into exact specs but here’s the meat and potatoes. They both have a Core i5 processor, 8GB RAM, 250GB SSD, 12” (roughly) screen. Size & Feel The HP is a bit smaller overall but that is fairly negligible. Although the HP is smaller it does actually feel a bit heavier. I like the design of the HP better, the corners and edges are rounded which makes it look sm
